On 2 September 2026, Chee Siah Le Kee & Partners was proud to host “Wars & Bubbles”, an incisive investment outlook session presented by Mr Alvin Yap and Mr Mervyn Goh of Avallis Investments.
In his keynote, “Investing Through a Fragmenting World”, Mr Alvin Yap highlighted how the balance of global economic power continues to tilt from West to East, even as trade increasingly clusters among select nations rather than following traditional comparative advantage. He also flagged rising flashpoint risks — from geopolitical conflicts to the disruptive powers of AI — and how these forces could reshape socio‑economic landscapes.
Sectors to watch, according to Mr Alvin, include robotics, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, technology, and gold. Participants left with valuable insights on how to navigate these shifting dynamics and position themselves for resilience in uncertain times.
