Inaugural ICAD Conference 2026 at AIAC

On 17.10.2026, our partner Mr. Wong Fook Meng was honoured to be invited as a panellist at the Inaugural International Commercial & Admiralty Division (ICAD) Conference 2026, held at the Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC).
The conference was officiated by the Chief Justice of Malaysia, YAA Tun Wan Ahmad Farid bin Wan Salleh, whose keynote address centred on the theme “Commercial Certainty as Economic Infrastructure”.
The establishment of the ICAD marks an important step in strengthening Malaysia’s ability to handle complex cross-border disputes. Becoming a jurisdiction of choice, he reminded us, cannot be achieved by ambition alone. It must be earned through consistency, judicial independence and institutional credibility.
Mr. Wong spoke on Panel 4, “Inside the Malaysian Courtroom: Managing a RM1.02 Billion Cross-Border Energy Dispute (PBJV v PETRONAS)”, alongside Yang Arif Dato’ Muhammad Adam bin Abdullah, Kenny Lam (RDS Partnership) and N.G. Vinod (Law Chambers of Vin Sa & Ian). The panel examined how the Malaysian courts manage high-value, cross-border energy disputes.
